About Fletcher Terri

My teaching career started later in life after I my children started school. I had the pleasure of finishing my Bachelor's degree in my hometown at Northwest Missouri State University. My first teaching job was at Spring Hill High School, in Spring Hill Kansas. While I enjoyed this position immensely, my family moved to Missouri, and the commute was too far. I held teaching jobs at Belton High School, and I then had the opportunity to teach at Lee's Summit Christian School, where I developed the Elementary keyboarding curriculum while also teaching computer applications and computer web design. I took a position at Raytown South High School until my husband, who is also an exceptional educator, was offered a teaching and coaching position at Fort Osage High School. There was a business teacher opening, and we both accepted positions at FOHS.My past eight years at Fort Osage have offered many different roles and opportunities. I have been both the dance team and assistant cheer coach. I have been both an FBLA co-advisor, and now head advisor, where I have had three students qualify for Nationals. I have been Department Chair for five years, in which I am in charge of our budget, operating expenses, planning and buliding the department schedule each school year, and planning and proposing new classes. I serve on the District Technology Committee, the Building Leadership Team Committee, and the Practical Arts Committee. As a teacher, I have taught Accounting, Business Management, Principles of Business, Personal Finance, Advanced Computer Applications, and Introduction to Computer Programming. I am always keen to learning, so teaching new classes is a welcoming challenge for me.While I Fort Osage, I have been involved and implemented Backward Design and Standards Based Grading. Part of this challenge involves the design and implementation of curriculum to meet the changing direction each of these practices require.
