About Fleur van Dissel
Fleur van Dissel received her Masters in Visual Communication at the Berlin University of the Arts. She began her career as an artist and designer for various Dutch theatres. Emerging as a video artist, she entered the media platform when she made her first documentary ‘Hi mum’ for the Dutch VPRO Television. The love story between Fleur and her mother Fransje with Alzheimer’s won several international awards. She has worked for over a decade as consultant, creative producer and filmmaker on people driven leadership issues in Kenya, South Sudan and recently Uganda. Her documentaries are made in collaboration with African talent and organizations, festivals and national TV. She is currently turning these local African initiatives into international features. Fleur van Dissel has received initial support from the Dutch Film Fund, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kenya and Sudan and more.
