About Flor Sanchez

I am a passionate environmental professional with a background in Environmental and Ocean Sciences (with a concentration in Environmental Studies) and a minor in French from the University of San Diego. My interests lie in addressing key environmental challenges, including renewable energy development, waste management, energy conservation, and biodiversity conservation. I am committed to driving sustainable solutions that balance ecological responsibility with economic viability. My academic journey has been complemented by hands-on experience in real-world sustainability projects. For example, I conducted research in Baja California, Mexico, developing insect field guides for biodiversity and island conservation. At the USD Office of Sustainability, I collaborated on initiatives focused on waste reduction, energy efficiency, and fostering a sustainable office culture. Over the course of this work, I completed 55+ environmental audits across campus, contributing to efforts to reduce USD’s environmental footprint. I am particularly excited about the potential for sustainable business innovation to create scalable, impactful solutions for both the environment and the economy. I am eager to apply my knowledge of sustainability practices, environmental policy, and data-driven solutions to address real-world challenges in sectors such as clean energy, resource management, and conservation.
