About Florence Huron

Passionate about Oceans and their fragility, I decided to focus my studies on engineering in fisheries and aquaculture sciences. Graduated with a MSc in Engineering from ENSAT (Toulouse) and AGROCAMPUS OUEST (Rennes), I joined Nausicaa, the National Sea Center, in 2011. For the past 9 years, I coordinated the Mr.Goodfish programme, on sustainable seafood consumption. I was in charge of developing and animating the programme at national and European level and setting up scientific committees in the different maritime areas in France. I was also in charge of implementing partnerships with professionals of the entire chain of custody, from fishermen, fish retailers to supermarkets and restaurants: regular follow-up with the partners involved, training and communication events. I also organised information meetings on the program for different audiences and developed communication tools to facilitate the visibility and extension of the program (brochures, recipe sheets, website, app.). I set up the programme team, and am still in charge of the budget management and the supervision of the Mr.Goodfish team. After several participations to European projects and clusters, to develop the Mr.Goodfish programme, I became in 2016 head of projects at NAUSICAA. I led, among other international projects, the Work Package of the H2020 COLUMBUS project dedicated to “Communication, Engagement and Knowledge Transfer towards a Blue Society”. I managed its related activities based on communication, promotion of marine Knowledge Transfer, enhancing the visibility and impact of marine and maritime research to stakeholders and the wider public, toward a Blue Society. I am currently supervising a team dedicated to several European projects- INTERREG 2 seas : VALGORIZE and SUMARIS - H2020 : MARINA - FEAMP : AQUA-LIT - INTERREG France (Channel) England : H20: SOURCE2SEAS In 2018, I became Head of Projects and Exhibitions at Nausicaa, focusing on an objective: to develop the Blue Society. I am working on the development of new exhibitions highlighting the relationship between humankind and the sea. In 2019, I led the development of the Blue Living lab, an open innovation platform gathering a variety of actors: visitors, startups, scientists, industries and public administration, around innovation and sustainable management of the Ocean resources.
