About Florence West

I am providing technical support to organisations working primarily in LMIC. I have worked in international development since 2005, working in partnership with individuals and organizations to improve the quality of care provided to women and newborns. I have a wide range of experiences facilitating family planning and sexual and reproductive health projects, training health workforce to develop clinical skills, strengthening midwifery regulatory bodies, improving midwifery educators capacity, evaluation of maternal, newborn and child health projects, conducting research and writing strategic plans. In the last 3 years, I have completed my PhD at the University of Technology Sydney which focuses on strengthening midwifery educator capacity in LMIC using international partnerships. I have spoken at international conferences in Thailand, Japan, Australia and Scotland and will soon present my research findings at ICM congress in Toronto, June 2017. During my PhD candidature I consulted for World Health Organization SEARO, 2015; UNFPA Cambodia, 2015; Swiss Red Cross Laos PDR, 2016; Swiss Red Cross Nepal, 2017.
