About Florian Lenner

I hold an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), a second MSc in War and Peace Studies from Leiden University, and a BA in Political Science from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. Most recently, I worked with GIZ (German Development Cooperation), as part of an internship, on their Global Programme with UNHCR to foster the implementation of the HDP-Nexus in refugee aid. My areas of experience and interest include EU foreign and security policy, conflict studies and peacebuilding, climate change and security, and forced displacement. I have also spent quite some time on US politics. I have gained experience in project development, project management, and organising events. Examples include- Worked in Diversity Management Consulting at Vielfaltsprojekte GmbH - Co-founded the Young Journal of European Affairs (YJEA), a student journal on European politics - Organised a hybrid, multi-stakeholder conference with 150+ participants on the HDP Nexus while with GIZ I have significant research experience in academic and non-academic contexts. Examples include- Distinction MSc thesis (LSE) on China's influence on EU foreign policymaking and First-Class BA thesis on climate security in the UNSC - Research for consultancy projects at Vielfaltsprojekte GmbH - Co-authored a study on conflict of interest policies in the EU member states for the European Parliament Having lived and studied in four European countries and worked in multinational teams, I have considerable international experience and enjoy working in a fast-paced, international environment.
