About Florian Mayer

Interests: My primary interests include CAD, 3D modeling, additive manufacturing, VR and game development. Hobbies: In my free time, I work with FDM and MSLA printing and have several 3D printers at home that I constantly feed with my own creations. Additionally, I develop VR games in Unreal Engine. Education: I am about to complete my Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg in the coming weeks. My Master's focus has been on industrial manufacturing processes. For my project thesis, I developed a software solution in Unity for AR-VR applications with a focus on visualizing industrial facilities. My Master's thesis involved creating a D-optimal experimental design for a parameter study on FDM with ceramics. Work/Professional Experience: In my extensive collaboration with Fraunhofer IIS, I created VR scenes in Unity and developed functionalities and tools in C# for testing experimental audio calculations. Personal Qualities: I am a highly creative individual with a strong sense of intrinsic motivation, always striving to find the optimal solution to any problem. My broad range of interests allows me to quickly grasp and understand new situations.
