About Floris Zaaijer

FiberCore Europe is a company specialized in the design and manufacturing of durable, robust fiber-reinforced polymer composite sandwich structures for high load applications, such as (pedestrian- and traffic) bridges, lock gates, ships and helicopter platforms. To ensure the robustness of our structures, FiberCore applies the patented InfraCore Inside technology, which distinguishes itself from traditional sandwich structures by a monolithic fiber connection between the top- and bottom skin through the webs. This connection minimizes the impact of delamination and eliminates the risk of skin-core debonding, providing a unique sales point for FRP sandwich structures and is therefore being implemented and licensed around the world (e.g. the United States, Australia, Suriname and Norway). The main benefits of our FRP sandwich structures are that they are lightweight, low-maintenance, sustainable and have a long lifetime. Our structures are made by single shot vacuum infusion processing and as a manufacturing engineer I focus on reducing waste, improving the quality of our products and testing new materials. In addition to that I also work as a structural engineer, a project manager, a sales engineer and a CAD-designer.
