About Flossie Baker

I am a postgraduate Politics and Communications student at the London School of Economics. Broadly speaking, I am interested in the role of civil society organising and advocacy campaigning, particularly on issues concerning refugee rights. I am currently interning with the Media Policy Project researching and compiling policy briefs on BBC Charter reform. I was awarded a First for my Undergraduate degree in International Development, Social Anthropology and Politics with Overseas Experience at the University of East Anglia. As part of my degree I interned as a correspondent at Inter Press Services at their United Nations Bureau in New York where I was tasked with writing news briefs, feature pieces and attending conferences and press briefings. I completed my thesis on the role of conflict sensitive journalism practiced by international news agencies in the DRC.
