About Folami Powell

I'm a passionate medical educator and vision researcher. My medical education interests include innovative curriculum initiatives, professional identity formation research, small group learning, and interactive module designs. I also have an interest in personalized experiences for medical students in the areas of biomedical research, health policy, global health, community health, public health, biomedical ethics, medical humanities and medical leadership. My vision research interests are in local insulin biosynthesis as a bioenergetic responses in retinal degenerative diseases, bioenergetic neuroprotection in photoreceptors, and antioxidant changes in diabetic retinopathy. In my administrative role, I am actively recruiting medical educators for the new 4-years campus in Savannah, Georgia. Please contact me if interested!
