About Fonglee Guo

I put design of art at the heart. Currently, I am the Senior Graphic Designer at Metagenics, a science based & patient focused nutrition company. My greatest strengths include conceptual artwork & crafting visual solutions. I make volume and quality visual contributions to Metagenics’ marketing collaterals, such as corporate ID, branding, rebranding, logos and graphic art. For a period, I was honorably to be assigned as the designated designer for Bariatric Advantage, a prominent division of Metagenics. I majored in graphic design and illustration, and earned my B.A. degree at the Central Academy of Arts and Design in Beijing, China, now a Design School at Tsinghua University. After graduating, I worked as a designer & art editor for “Zhuong Shi”— a Chinese nationally circulated design magazine in the Academy. Meanwhile, I was commissioned by local publishing houses to work on children’s book illustrations. I was also commissioned by the Chinese Post Administration to design Commemorative stamp. My works had been honored with local and national awards in China. A career opportunity brought me to America. I was hired by Larry Pao Design, an advertising agency in Costa Mesa, California in the 1990s, worked as an on-staff illustrator and graphic designer, served clients including Western Digital, LAX, Secure Horizon, and others. My illustrations for Commerce Bank Corp’s annual report were published on the prestigious Graphis — the International Journal of Visual Communication. On the side, I am a painter; my paintings were once exhibited in local galleries. To me, being creative is not only a way for making a living, it is more importantly a way of life!
