I am a passionate Safety Coordinator at Florida Power and Light with over 25 years of experience in the electrical utility industry. I am dedicated to improving the safety culture on an organizational and individual level and working to understand why failures occur and what can be done so that individuals can fail safely. Improvement and implementation of effective training and safe work methods for experienced craftworkers and apprentices is important to me. My work includes instructing project management for safety and training initiatives, safety training & assessment, evaluating new-hire candidates & apprentices, and helping to develop effective training materials. I enjoy frequent opportunities to present in small and large group settings, across varying levels and departments as a leader of training sessions, meetings, and special projects. Committed to fostering a safety culture and understanding the importance of building the capacity to fail safely into everything we do, I perform field safety assessments, provide actionable feedback, and collaborate with teams to enhance safety practices. I am dedicated to improving safety culture, training and development, and having a positive impact on the company and those around me. A personal value I hold strongly is the need for continuous improvement and learning.
