United Engineers & Constructors, formerly known as AECOM Energy and Construction, URS Energy and Construction, and Washington Group International, provides engineering and construction services to the commercial utility industry. My recent major projects as an Engineering Director/Project Engineering Manager include: • Addition of dry fly ash conveying and supporting systems to four (4) 800 MW coal-fired utility boilers at Monroe Power Plant, Monroe, MI. • Construction of a new 700 MW gas-fired combined cycle power generation facility at West Riverside Energy Center, Beloit, WI. • Retrofit of selective catalytic reduction (SCR), urea-to-ammonia, and dry sorbent injection (DSI) systems to two (2) 800 MW coal-fired utility boilers at Four Corners Power Plant, Fruitland, NM. • Addition of wet limestone sulfur dioxide (FGD) systems and common support systems to four (4) 800 MW coal-fired utility boilers at Monroe Power Plant, Monroe, MI. My responsibilities on all projects include: • Ensuring quality of engineering deliverables and conformance with Company, Code, and Owner-specified requirements. • Managing engineering budget and schedule performance and reporting progress to internal executive management and client management. • Understanding the contract scope and technical requirements and advising project management regarding requests for additional work. • Coordinating with project management, construction management, field engineering, procurement, quality controls, major suppliers, joint venture partners, and the client. • Championing good engineering practices, process improvement, and knowledge transfer, while mentoring less experienced team members and providing technical direction to facilitate project completion.
