About Fran Mauney

I design innovative projects for students, teachers, and technology companies. I create simple processes to help others achieve their goals. I care for my 96 year old mother as we live life with purpose. We share her years of wisdom on a weekly online talk show. I enthusiastically lead GCS projects such as Summer Reading Camp, Backpack training for parents and staff, Bosch BEST Teacher Grants, GCS Virtual Program Support, READ 180 data support. I work closely with developers, executive directors, Assistant Superintendents, administrators, teachers, clerks, and parents. Speaking at events, organizing effective learning environments and creating solutions to meet others’ needs brings me the most joy. I am a keynote speaker, site grant director, conference planner, educator, mentor, STEAM Advocate, professional development trainer, and I'm quite passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. At SYNNEX, I worked with resellers from all verticals and promoted IoT solutions with our Cloud and Mobility teams. I led the Education Practice at SYNNEX aynd shared ways technology, specifically Intel devices, can meet the needs of students as we prepare for the 21st Century Classroom. I worked closely with the Google and Microsoft Team and I am a Microsoft Innovative Educator. I spoke at technology conferences across the country: Education Boot Camps and Red, White You, Varnex, MACUL, Secret Sauce Events, ISTE, SC Edtech, SCASL, SCIRA, and UTC. I continue to educate teachers via Twitter and Facebook by sharing ideas, projects, and strategies that work. I led a 1:1 Initiative for Greenville County Schools and recommended apps, modeled lessons in classrooms, and designed PD for teachers providing them with voice and choice. I was a Promethean trainer, piloted Discovery Education Science Techbook and trained how to use Windows tablets in the classroom. I designed and taught Graduate Classes through the College of Charleston. I was a first and second grade teacher and wrote technology grants for the schools and district. I created menus and wrote curriculum for the State Department of Education. I worked especially well with students who had special needs and I recognized students' multiple intelligences and built upon their strongest intelligences when teaching.
