About Frances Cartwright

I graduated from the University of Durham with a 1st Class BSc in Cell Biology and an MSc by research in Biological Imaging. I moved to Bristol to carry out a postgraduate research project in plant biology. I left research to shift my focus towards science communication, initially working as a writer and then as an editor. The move to marketing was a natural step for me, and I enjoy the diversity that such roles offer. As a marketing executive at Bioscientifica I worked across a wide variety of different channels, including web, social, email, search, print, exhibitions, and advertising; responsible for planning, designing, implementing and reporting on multi-channel campaigns. During my time as a Marketing Manager, I took on responsibility for developing marketing plans according to departmental strategy, handling a £100k budget, and managing two reportees. After nearly 7 years in scholarly publishing, I made the move to Marketing Executive at Cheddar Gorge and Caves. I couldn’t imagine a more spectacular place to work! I’m loving getting to grips with the attractions industry with so many fun and passionate people to work with. I’m now a Senior Marketing Executive, managing a marketing colleague.
