About Francesca Kennedy

Since beginning the pursuit of an animation career, I have been nominated for and won awards for my work.'The John Byrne Award - Video Category' Prize, the 'Poetry in Film' prize at the 'Out-Spoken' Awards and nominated at the 'Learning on Screen Awards' for the Undergraduate Prize, all of them for my work on 'The Glasgae Boys'. I have worked with London-based companies Stakk Media and Aeon Creative to create both animated shorts and graphic designs for various projects. On top of that, I also gained experience in Belfast working with local animation company Hola Lola to create storyboards for Health and Social Care (HSC). After landing a job at Enter Yes as a 2D Animator and Junior Artist, I worked on a variety of projects funded by the BBC, RTE, and local causes such as the Ulster-Scots Foundation. After gaining enough confidence to branch into Scriptwriting for short animated films, I was promoted to Junior Art Director due to receiving funding from NI Screen for my own 2D Animated Short Film,'Shattered'- put into production between 2022-2023. This went on to be screened at Imagina Anifest in New York in December 2023. I'm also delighted to announce that Shattered is going to be screened at BAFTA on the 25th April 2024! In my spare time, I enjoy working on personal projects, slalom rollerblading, and gaming.
