About Francesca Pole

I’m an associate in DLA Piper’s Intellectual Property and Technology team. I’m British and based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I focus on data, privacy and cybersecurity issues. I’m part of DLA Piper’s global data protection team as well as the firm’s technology and consumer goods sectors. I’m AI-curious and support DLA Piper’s AI Working Group. I advise on internal data protection compliance and processes for multinationals. I also advise on e-privacy, data transfers, direct marketing and cybersecurity. In particular, I enjoy navigating privacy issues in new technologies including data analytics and artificial intelligence. As part of this, I work with global enterprises to develop and launch innovative and strategic tools using these technologies. I trained and qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales before moving to the Netherlands in 2019. I continue to apply my experiences and knowledge from working in the UK to bridge the gap between the English and European privacy landscapes. In my pre-lawyer life I proudly worked in the publishing sector - supporting with contracts and licensing for commercial publications. When not at work, you’ll find me in the gym, planning dinner parties or travelling.
