About Francesco Bertaccini

Graduated in Aerospace Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano (2008) with a thesis on the Safety Management System created during the Internship period at Eurofly. Master of Science in Safety and Accident Investigation at the University of Cranfield (United Kingdom - 2015) with a thesis on the risk analysis related to post-maintenance test flights. From October 2006 employed at the Flight Safety office of an Airline (Eurofly then Meridianafly and finally Air Italy) with tasks and roles of greater responsibility given the objectives achieved and the decision-making and management skills demonstrated up to the role of Business Resilience Manager with the task of developing the company's business continuity plan and protection of critical activities. During the whole period, I am involved in the training of flight crew and cabin crew as regards the requirements of Air-OPS (EU Reg. 965/2012) and ground staff on all matters relating to the Safety Management System and activities related. This type of activity, combined with the innovations introduced in the Safety Reporting System, have brought excellent results and increased awareness of the risk of operations for the introduction of interventions aimed at solving problems. During I attended, in addition to the aforementioned university courses, courses in Air Force Accident Investigation at the Italian Air Force and on Operational Fatigue at JAA. Frequent participation in conferences, meetings and workshops with ENAC (National Civil Aviation Authority) and IFSC (Italian Flight Safety Committee) and foreign Authorities (European Commission and NTSB). Since November 2016, member of the board of directors of Italian Flight Safety Committe (IFSC) and trainer of numerous emergency management courses for both airlines and airport managers.
