Professionally, I was the Director of Events and Conferences / Development Consultant at the New York Academy of Medicine During the five years that I was in this position, I raised several million dollars for the Academy through increased revenue from our events and in working in conjunction with the SVP of Development. I administered an annual budget of over a million dollars, supervised a staff of seven professionals as well as working closely with other departments, I developed new fundraising programs, designed and executed the promotional brochures, co-chaired the annual fundraising galas, identified and cultivated donors, instituted a “naming” opportunity at the Academy, and brought in the single largest individual donation in the Academies long and illustrious career. We arranged for hundreds of meetings and events per year in our sq ft event center. Weddings, galas, etc were cultivated and arranged in conjunction with our in house caterer. I also worked in Membership at the Academy. I interfaced with the Academy fellows, solicited new fellows, and arranged meetings and events for them. I have been a meeting and conference planner / Hospitality Director for many years. I am a CMP besides having a Bachelors and a Masters degree. I was President of Professional Meeting Planners, a meeting firm in NYC and was responsible for numerous national and international meetings and events. I am on the Executive Board of the Lighthouse Guild. I am chairman of the Development Committee and plan dinners, events and the fundraising Gala for the Lighthouse. As I lived and worked for NATO in Brussels, Belgium I do speak French. I am highly motivated, innovative and work well under pressure, independently and within a team. I am capable of handling multiple projects at the same time. My salary requirements are flexible. I am more interested in obtaining an interesting and challenging position than the salary offered.
