About Franck Beda

I have a Civil and Geotechnical Engineering background with 16 years’ experience including 10 years within the mining industries. I joined the mining industries as Project Supervisor for TSF construction. My role was to coordinate TSF LOM study and final design of different stages, to manage the construction from the tendering process to construction commissioning, to initiate the TSF operations manual with all the stakeholders and to assist during TSF audit. During 4 years, I leaded the Geotechnical Department of Newcrest Mining in Côte d’Ivoire as Geotechnical Engineer and then Senior Geotechnical Engineer. My role was to implement the highest standards in geotechnical engineering at Bonikro Gold Mine. This relates to providing geotechnical services to Bonikro and Hire Open Pits, including the Bonikro Mine TSF Performance monitoring. As Earthworks Coordinator, I strengthened my skills and experience in geotechnical practical remediation works and dam construction. With regard to the success of the different projects that I coordinated, the Management of Ambatovy offered me to lead the Business Improvement Program of the Mine. The role of BI Program Lead gave me the opportunity to develop a great understanding of the mine and the requirements to be a successful and viable project. I am certified Lean six sigma green belt which developed my sight for continuous improvement. I combine strong leadership and good mentoring attitude to develop my co-workers and any other employees that I am interacting with. I am always professional, challenging status quo and result focus. I greatly privilege teamwork to achieve goals.
