As a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in occupational health and safety, I have dedicated my career to ensuring safe and compliant workplaces across various sectors. Currently, I serve as the Acting Senior Manager for Construction Health and Safety at the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development, where I lead a multidisciplinary team in developing policies, conducting safety training programs, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance workplace safety. My journey began in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Weapons Technician, where I honed my technical skills and leadership abilities. Over the years, I transitioned into various managerial roles within the Ministry of Labour, overseeing inspections, compliance, and safety programs in construction, food safety, and long-term care sectors. My expertise extends to strategic leadership, policy development, stakeholder engagement, and program management. I am passionate about fostering safe and fair workplaces and have a proven track record of implementing effective safety initiatives and legislative changes. My commitment to continuous learning is evident through my extensive training in management, technical diving, and occupational health and safety. In addition to my professional achievements, I am actively involved in volunteer work, including serving with the Canadian Ski Patrol and participating in community-building projects like Habitat for Humanity. I am also an avid scuba diver and motorcycle enthusiast, which allows me to bring a unique perspective to my work.
