Background

About Franek Smith

I’m have recently joined the family firm, Wherry & Sons Limited, based just north of Bourne, Lincolnshire. I bring 15 years experience in risk and commodity management. My career was developed through Dunns, a SME processor involved in the cleaning of Pulses for Human Consumption and Seeds for planting; which was purchased by ADM in 2019. I have a hands on approach and have worked from a small “family business” to a multi-national agri-food conglomerate. I have responsibility for a range of areas within Wherry's business, focusing mainly on Pulses; adding value and trading. Colleagues know me as a highly enthusiastic, passionate trader, who is innovative and precise when approaching business. I understand that the client’s business comes first, and I never try to hard sell my ideas or products. Instead, I spend a lot of time understanding their business and the end consumer. I can (and often do) work well alone, but I’m at my best collaborating with others. I have an FdSc from Lincoln University which I achieved whilst working for Dunns full time.
