Strong commitment to a version of systems development life cycle (SDLC) that includes planning, analysis (including investigating technical risks), writing requirements, design (including defining architecture), integration (including defining Agile-like scrum sprints), Verification, Validation, and deployment phases. Projects were highly successful because put emphasis on the early phases of traditional SDLC plus, in parallel, did rapid prototyping of critical components to see what was feasible and also implemented in sprints rather than one big release. This ensured that the projects met user needs with minimal rework.
