About Frank Linn

From 1992 – 2012, I served as technical editor at Taylor Engineering, a water resources consulting firm. In this role, I provided editorial support to the company’s coastal, civil, hydrologic, and hydraulic engineers, and environmental scientists who generated technical reports and ancillary documents for a highly eclectic client base. Reports focused on inlet management, dredging and dredged material management, waterfront structures (seawalls, bulkheads, and marinas), floodplain management, and water quality; ancillary documents focused on permit applications and RAIs for regulatory agencies. I have edited technical reports addressing analysis, evaluation, assessment, and feasibility of engineering problems and solutions for federal, state, municipal, and international clients, and helped craft ancillary documents for regulatory agencies at every state and federal level. My experience also includes work with the company’s marketing staff to organize and edit materials intended to secure new clients and to keep old ones. Materials include responses to RFPs in a variety of formats such as Standard Form 330, complex agency proposal packages, and simplier scopes of work. Due in part to well written and organized submittals, the company received long-term contracts from agencies and government entities such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the South Florida Water Management District, and numerous Florida county commissions. I also edited contract- and award-winning PowerPoint presentations.During my tenure, the company’s written work products consistently received positive reviews.
