About Frank Marsik

I am an atmospheric scientist with a love for meteorology, climate, and environmental studies. While my early career focused on applied/broadcast meteorology, I returned to graduate school to allow me to further explore my interests in meteorology, climate, and the environment. In the recent past, I have increasingly focused my efforts on teaching others about these areas. In addition to teaching courses in meteorology within the Department of Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering (CLASP), I also teach courses to assist incoming freshmen and transfer students within the College of Engineering that seek to help introduce these students to the university and to the on-campus experiences that can help round out their academic coursework and hopefully help them to the career options that they will find fulfilling. I am also thrilled to have slowly transitioned into a series of leadership roles within the University of Michigan, currently serving as the Director of Strategic Academic Initiatives and Undergraduate Chair within CLASP, as well as the Faculty Director of First Year Student Engagement in Undergraduate Engineering within the College of Engineering. In these roles, I am excited to be able to interact with our students of all academic levels and disciplines, seeking the provide the most positive, welcoming and inclusive experience possible within the CLASP Department, and within Michigan Engineering, in general.
