About Frankie Beard

From my first job as a camp counselor in my hometown in Florida to my current role as the Direction of Educational Operations to a non-profit Nature Center in the mountains of Colorado, I have always found that alternative forms of education are where I thrive. I love having the opportunity to teach students of all ages outside the classroom to create memorable experiences for everyone. As the recipient of the Undergraduate Environmental Studies Faculty Award, I was a committed student - passionate about my research opportunities as well as diving into my coursework to learn more about subjects like ecology, education, and environmental justice. Outside of work, I am a crafter & baker, a finder of local foods and farms, a lover of all cats but especially mine, and a hiker.
