I started my own IFA business, just before Black Monday in 1987, where markets went south and kept on going. With hindsight, it was one of the best things that could have happened; I was forced to reasses what I had been doing and why. My attitude changed from that day until now. I learned to do only what is right for the client and to spend time listening to their needs and objectives. From then I continued my business, sucessfully for another 7 years before selling up and moving back to the Borders. I have worked as an IFA for many years, before returning to my roots and setting up Fraser James Partnership in 2007. With offices in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders and Bathgate in West Lothian, we deal in all aspects of financial planning, from mortgages and protection, to savings, investment and pensions. I achieved my Diploma in Finacial Planning in June 2010, this the industry standard for Financial Advisers. As well as advising clients on a daily basis, I also appear fortnightly on Radio Borders - Money Matters with Fraser Brydon.
