About Fraser Shiers

Fraser is a highly accomplished designer and CG artist with over twenty years of experience crafting CG images and animations for some of the world's largest brands, agencies and design studios. He’s a versatile generalist with a deep skill set, excelling in many areas of the CG pipeline. Fraser’s passionate about creating images, films, and environments that tell stories and communicate ideas, as well as teaching others to do the same. Before working in the world of CG, Fraser designed real-world environments, and he draws on this experience in his current work. His intimate knowledge of real-world materials, construction techniques, and understanding of form, space and order, directly feeds into the environments, assets, and images he creates today in CG. His 3D illustration and motion work has earned Fraser numerous prestigious international awards. He brings strong design thinking to every brief, leading to work which responds directly to the problem at hand. Characterised by its subtlety and refinement, Fraser crafts work, often highly technical and photoreal, that exhibits a meticulous attention to detail. As a leader and a teacher, Fraser’s dedicated to sharing his knowledge and experience with others. His Houdini training materials are frequently used by artists at leading VFX and games studios, helping them transition to the more powerful and procedural world of Houdini.
