About Fred Dufresne

Self taught programmer, I have been honing my skills since 2001. I have experience in game development, game design, backend development, computer vision, cloud computing, distributed systems and much more. On 3 separate occasions, I had the pleasure to join hackathons as part of very successful teams: Mission Hack: 1st place with team Mihnimum Mattsimum, where the objective was to develop a technology to improve life on a ficticious Mars colony. We developed an augmented reality technology to help reduce the load on experts by allowing users to follow highlighted prompts in AR to achieve technical tasks. Aqua Hacking: 3rd place with team Salt-Ed, to solve problems with freshwater pollution, focusing on road salts. Our solution involved created a computer controlled salt hopper to install on small business owned vehicles that would factor in several environmental parameters to optimize the amount of salt deposited on the roads over the winter. Our solution would pay for itself in a year and a half. Fintech Cadence Formathon: 1st place with team Cathexis, to help fintech startups gain credibility in the industry. To achieve that goal, we devised a 4 step plan to create a business that could fund itself with the ultimate objective to automate compliance verification, which we identified as a quick way to gain the initial trust of potential customers.
