Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of line service staff. Recommends selection of staff; trains staff in work procedures; administers discipline as required. Orders and maintains and inventory of fuel, oxygen, lubricants and other servicing materials and supplies; assists in specifying and developing contracts for such items. Coordinates line service response to aircraft emergency situations; notifies proper authorities and acts as liaison between the FAA and other affected agencies and individuals. Assigns all aircraft parking tie down locations for based aircraft; maintains liaison with based aircraft owners; resolves customer complaints and disputes as required. Coordinates tie down and parking locations for special events; works with event organizers for various aircraft displays. Explains and enforces all airport and County policies and procedures to the visiting customers. Directs the maintenance of and maintains accurate records related to the work performed. Prepares a variety of written records, correspondence, reports and procedures. Monitors developments and conducts studies related to the work of the unit; recommends improved policies and procedures and implements after adoption. Ensures the safety of the fueling and servicing equipment at the field; makes regular safety inspections and reports the need for maintenance or repair. Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team. Uses standard office equipment in the course of the work; drives a variety of motor vehicles to reach aircraft and perform related duties.
