About Fred Hill

Fred C. Hill, Jr. is CEO and Managing Principal of Harbor Investment Advisory, LLC. Harbor Investment Advisory is a full service Broker Dealer and Investment Advisor firm headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland. Fred started his career as a Financial Advisor with Shearson Lehman Brothers in 1987. Since 1992, he held various management positions within the organization and its successor firms. By 2004, Fred was a Managing Director with Smith Barney with oversight of Operations, Risk, Administration and Revenue at the Complex and Branch office levels. These assignments covered businesses ranging in size from $7 million in revenues with 50 employees to $160 million in revenues with 300 employees. From 2011 to 2013, Fred served on the Branch Manager Advisory Council to senior management within Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Fred is recognized by advisors as an effective business partner who helps them better serve their clients by developing their competencies and operating more efficient practices. Over the past 14 years, Fred is most proud of his leadership role in serving clients and advisors through turbulent bear markets and significant industry consolidation and change. He has been recognized by On Wall Street magazine as one of the top 100 Branch Managers in the Industry for 5 consecutive years. Fred now brings his years of experience to Harbor Investment Advisory in Baltimore. Fred earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Finance from Virginia Tech. He holds the several securities licenses including the Series 3, 7, 8, 63 and 65.
