About Fred Pollard

I started my career in the high tech. semiconductor industry managing projects and people. I honed my skills, transitioned from technician, engineer, department manager, to general manager. Serving the needs of manufacturing, R&D, and higher education. Many in the industry wanted to have access to a company that reduced capital expense and delivered manufacturing equipment that was guaranteed to meet their needs. I ventured into business ownership. In 1993 Alpha Technology Inc. opened and became an international company that solved manufacturing needs. In I transitioned to Real Estate and created Castle Properties Unlimited Inc. This company helped create low-income housing and reduced utility costs for the residents. In 2006 I opened a restaurant and became active in economic development in the Spokane metro area. As time went on I realized my passion was in assisting people and businesses to succeed. In 2008 I became a Main Street director. In 2010 I served as City Council member for Cheney, and became active in regional economic development. 2013-14 I serve as Chair of SME248 assisting N. ID. and E. WA. to attract manufacturing. I offered Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) this program is customized to fit individual companies needs and expectations. 2015 April I accepted a management position with the University of Idaho as the Resource Conservation Manager. Reducing the carbon footprint, documenting existing conditions and resource use patterns. Prepare energy audit reports and develop action plans. Analyze data and promote conservation in the community.
