About Fred R.

I am the Business Architect for Marquis Software, who many practitioners in the Corrections Community consider to be the leading provider of Offender Management Software in the the industry with our eOMIS COTS solution. So, one might ask, how did I end up here? To quote one of my colleagues,"Fred grew up in a county jail", and he is about correct. I've been in the law enforcement and corrections business most of my life. My father was the sheriff and on the weekends home from college, I helped out by taking a shift in his county jail, handling booking, managing fifty inmates, answering phones and dispatching calls. There was no salary or fringe benefits, unless of course you count the tuition/room/board at the University of Florida and the excellent meals prepared by the jail cook. Through the years I worked numerous positions including police officer, parole and probation officer, corrections officer, etc, working my way up the ladder, with my last government service in the Florida Dept. of Corrections as the Chief of Classification and Central Records. In that position I had statewide oversight of the intake, classification, transfer, assignment and release of over inmates across 75 prisons. After thirty years with the FDOC I moved from the public sector to Marquis Software. With Marquis I support client relations, partnership development, implementations, corrections assessments, system design (functionality), business development, marketing, etc. For over thirty-five years, Marquis has been proud to be a family/employee owned business and I add my thirty plus years in Justice and Public Safety to enhance our products, build relationships and delight clients.
