About Freda Manu

Hi, my name is Freda, but my friends call me Mac. I am a passionate and result-driven full stack developer with a background in finance and business management consulting. My decision to become a ‍ software developer was one influenced by a desire to move outside of my comfort zone, learn new things, and become more than I was. I did business in high school, business administration in undergrad, and international development with a research focus on business in postgrad. At this point, my whole life had become business. But in all those years, one thing that I learned was the power of technology in business growth. I noticed how businesses, especially start-ups, that use tech grow 10x faster than those that have not employed tech in their operations. Businesses with an online presence are able to reach more people than those without any form of an online presence. To test this out myself, I created a simple google business site for a saloon business in 2021 using google site templates because I did not know how to code then (https://afro-braid-and-weave-salon.business.site/?utm_source=gmb & utm_medium=referral). In less than a month, I was receiving at least 3 calls a week from people who wanted to use the service, and here I was having to give them excuses because I couldn't tell them “hey, I am so sorry this is a trial something so….”. To cut a long story short, I found a local salon that did not have an online presence and rented out the site to her. Learning to code for me, therefore, is being able to help more businesses make good use of technology, which is the force behind development in the world today and in the years ahead. I believe as a full stack developer my job is to deliver front and back-end development processes that add to the value of a business or an organization.
