About Frederick Beals

Working at something that’s both challenging and fulfilling is the greatest. My job as a financial advisor here in Metro NY area is tremendously satisfying because I am able to help people change their lives for the better. Writing wealth management plans* for a medical professional to provide for multiple generations, or structuring a better future for a special needs family, are challenges that I find so interesting and rewarding. I am part of the HBM Group at Merrill Lynch, which is a multi -office advisory team that includes advisors with fluencies in portfolio management, technical analysis and trading, private equity, insurance, business retirement plans and banking as well as creating wealth management plans. This group dynamic fosters new ideas and strategies which are regularly discussed in our weekly huddles. All this, of course, makes us sharper as a team and individuals. Foundational Concept: Invest to fund goals, not beat markets, and reduce risk to the minimum within the goal funding framework. You can’t control returns, but you can chose your level of risk. Outside of work I love to travel and meet people. I spent most of one year traveling through Europe and another at hotel school in Switzerland. If my job didn’t involve helping and empowering people, I’d want to be hosting one of those world traveler shows exploring distant lands and discovering the people and their history. Playing Latin jazz on my trumpet in Havana and making an archeological dig in ancient Troy are near the top of my bucket list. My wife Rosemary works for the City of New York and we’ve lived in Stony Point NY for 16 years.
