About Frederick Catron

Internationally experienced with over 27 years in the industrial valve industry, Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Master of Engineering Degree in Engineering Mechanics from Iowa State University. Started career in the Fisher™ Valve Division (Emerson) working in the research flow lab, worked in areas such as developing new products, control valve testing, competitive analyses, nuclear qualification, flow induced vibration, noise prediction, customer field testing/analysis, sales training, customer support, project management, and engineering management. Left Fisher™ in 2010 to work at Weir Valves & Controls in the USA, after 16 months, relocated to their United Kingdom office, sharing time between the UK and South Korea valve companies as the Head of Nuclear Qualification for 5 years. Main focus while in the UK & South Korea was executing nuclear qualification plans for safety related control valves for 4 units at the Barakah site in UAE and 2 units at Shin Hanul site in South Korea. Currently the company Vice President for Clarke Valve, based in Rhode Island. Responsibilities include company financial planning and oversight, creating organizational strategies, support for many functions in sales, creating strategies for product development and implementation, and creating operational strategies to drive overall company growth, reducing costs, increase sales revenue, as well as creating the necessary process, procedures and tools for the functions/teams working on the strategies & initiatives. Holder of 8 United States patents and co-author of numerous technical papers on subjects like flow induced vibration, noise control in process plants, and piping system noise predictions that have been published in international proceedings, such as ASME, AGA, INCE, and Inter-Noise.
