Frederick W. McCarthy is an entrepreneur, investor and real estate developer. He has over 20 years of experience in real estate development, corporate finance and strategy, and business development to help build leading and innovative properties and companies. Frederick is the Founder and President of Vertical Fields Capital LLC, a real estate development and investment firm focused on acquiring, repositioning, renovating and operating self storage facilities in dense and growing urban and suburban in-fill locations in the top 25 MSAs in the United States. Since 2014, the Company, through affiliates, acquired and developed more than 1 million square feet of self storage. Prior to forming Vertical Fields, Frederick founded and managed FlexBox Self Storage, a 40€ million developer and operator of self storage facilities in France, Italy and Switzerland from 2007 to 2010. Frederick’s other real estate investments include approximately $50 million of residential repositionings in South Florida, New York and Boston. Frederick began his career as an investment banker at BT. Alex. Brown, raising debt financing and providing mergers & acquisitions advisory to Financial Sponsor clients. He earned a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.
