About Frederick Mubiru

Frederick is an experienced management and public health professional with expertise in Reproductive and Maternal health, and Gender programming. He holds an MSC in Population and Reproductive Health Studies of Makerere University, Kampala, Post Graduate Diploma in Development Evaluation Studies of Uganda Christian University, Mukono. He has over 19 years experience in project management and implementing science research and M&E. Since September of 2019 he has worked as a Technical Advisor with FHI 360’s Research Utilization Department’s Head Quarter team with a specific role as the Family Planning Advisor for the Knowledge SUCCESS project. It is a global project led by a consortium of partners including John Hopkins CCP, FHI 360, Busara and AMREF Health Africa and funded by USAID’s Office of Population and Reproductive Health to support learning, and create opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange, within the family planning and reproductive health community. In this role, I have provided technical, scientific leadership and insights to the designing of Knowledge Management strategies and priorities for the project’s FP/RH audiences, content products development and supporting strategic partnerships for the project in East Africa, West Africa and Asia. I also support Research Utilization activities under the USAID Research for Scalable Solutions(R4S) project including implementation Science Research in Drug shops, Evaluation of High Impact practices and Country Research prioritization in Uganda, Malawi and Nepal among others. Until July of 2019, I was the Project Director/Chief of Party for the Advancing Partners and Communities (APC) in Uganda a USAID funded project that was advancing reproductive health of women and communities in upto 26 districts of Uganda. Between December 2011 and April 2014 I worked as the Program Manager for the Gender Roles Equality and Transformations (GREAT), project funded by USAID implemented by the Institute for Reproductive Health(IRH), Georgetown University in post-conflict communities in northern Uganda.
