About Frederico Miranda

Chasing answers, immerse in a childhood memory, back in my home town in Portugal where I come from, and my father disclosing me the connection between a peculiar stone facing the ocean and the charismatic Japanese novelist Kazuo Dan, I felt the wind of curiosity pulling the other way around the globe inverting Kazuo’s steps, bringing me to Japan. Back in time and dedicated to consistently honing my artistic skills, I then attended Centre d'Estudis Cinematogràfics de Catalunya (CECC) in Barcelona, Spain and obtained a Degree in Film Directing. Before I knew it, I became a film Director. Independently, I developed original documentaries, short films and music videos. To date, I have directed 90+ commercials for numerous big-name brands like Coca Cola, United Nations, 33 Export Beer, and Tourism of Portugal. I have also worked with renowned agencies like BBDO, JWT, Y&R, FCB. Five years ago I founded TODOS Creative Hub ( todos.pt ) which I still manage, based in Lisbon with multidisciplinary Professionals and Companies that provide content creation and production for visual media, now hosting 72 independent creatives of all kinds. After witnessing the success of this platform and gaining an established reputation across all over Europe it was time for a new adventure. I started traveling an year ago, following the clues to the documentary not knowing when I would go back to Portugal. It was a lonely but enriching journey, that cleared my mind and my spirit, bringing me closer to myself and to what’s important. The wind that moved me through this trip gave me such a wide raged perception of life that I’ve realised the infinite possibilities of the Japanese and Asian market where I can put into place all my know how, skills with my European creative vision. Little did I know, that with this all this wondering I would end up finding in Japan the peace and quiet that my heart lacked, and where plenitude was not a desire anymore but my reality.
