I'm a passionate molecular plant and microbiologist, motivated to support nature regeneration. I would describe myself as warm, reliable, and collaborative. I'm a generalist who enjoys traveling, competitive sports, reading literature, and expressing my creativity through painting and pottery. Passion for Nature: My fascination with plants and microbes in diverse ecosystems drives my academic and personal pursuits. In my free time, I love hiking and exploring nature. It is my affection for nature that inspires me to promote sustainable living and preserve biodiversity. Professional Background: I hold a Bachelor’s in Biology and a Master’s in Molecular and Cellular Life Sciences from Utrecht University (UU). I gained valuable research experience through internships and several part-time roles at UU's Plant-Microbe Interaction group under Prof. Dr. van der Ackerveken, focusing on plant responses to environmental challenges. An internship at the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature, and Food Quality broadened my perspective, linking fundamental research to societal applications through policy. My skills include critical and creative thinking, handling molecular techniques, data analysis, integrating knowledge from various experimental sources and scientific literature, and innovative problem-solving. Career: I am currently working at the Ecology Department of Witteveen+Bos. Here I am employed as eDNA specialist. I aim to further develop myself in this innovative research field, forming a bridge between molecular biology and ecology. Core Values: I value authenticity, integrity, and a commitment to quality.
