About Freek de Heijde

I have always been passionate about the Agrifood sector. Its increasingly complex and international character was only one of the reasons I recently, after over four years at Wageningen University, decided to move to Italy to obtain my Double Degree. This experience will allow me to look at the Agrifood sector from a different perspective and hopefully, in the future, to help in addressing the challenges lying ahead. My colleagues at university describe me as a trustworthy, flexible and highly motivated person with an eye for detail. An important part of my job as a private teacher has been to motivate other people, to determine the optimal (personalized) strategy to improve results. I am used to do projects in an international context/team, and I would consider myself equally fluent in English and Dutch, written as well as spoken. Thanks to these projects I was able to directly work with and consult companies in the Agri-Food domain (Vitelia Voeders BV, Oost NL) interested in exploring new business opportunities. As some projects had a strong interdisciplinary character, I also learned to work together with people from different fields. I have experience in working independently as well and my Bachelor thesis was graded 8 out of 10. Finally, I possess a solid academic background in Management Studies, mostly related to food and agriculture but also in more general terms.
