About Frieda Schimmel

My academic background is in social sciences, mostly focused on conflict and democracy covering the disciplines of international relations and political science while my work experience is largely in communications with some elements of HR. I am passionate about supporting the values of liberal democracy and believe that the most direct way to apply this commitment is in supporting civil society and journalism/news media, which are critical pillars of democratic institutions. Through my previous work and study experiences, I have developed several essential job-related skills such as: 1. Research – quantitative an qualitative, including conducting and transcribing interviews 2. Writing and reporting – note-taking, drafting concise and accurate summaries as well as detailed, comprehensive reports 3. Editing/proofreading – Native proficiency, both US and UK English 4. Collaboration and communication – working with diverse teams and people from all backgrounds 5. Content creation – including newsletters, social media, blog posts, basic graphic design Practical: US Passport and right to work/live in Czech Republic, Native English and basic Czech and German
