About Fumi Takeuchi

With a decade of experience as a dedicated paediatrician, I transitioned to a five-year tenure in clinical research for rare diseases using real-world data. This journey took me from the National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry (NCNP) in Japan to Newcastle University in the UK. As a clinical reviewer at the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA), my role was pivotal in the regulatory reviews of new drugs and clinical trial consultations. This included a broad spectrum of products, from new medicines to medical devices and even cellular or tissue-based products in the neuroscience area. My journey to contribute to patients through my unique work experience led me to Pharma, where I began as an MSL in rheumatology in 2022. I lead medical activities for two global products before the launch as the medical director in neuroscience. I am open-minded, inquisitive, and responsible. I am also a good team player. I feel rewarded by teamwork achievement and cross-functional collaboration, which can, I believe, benefit patients.
