Currently the Open Educational Resources Librarian at San Jose City College. For 12 years (2011-2023) I was an interdisciplinary librarian and special collections curator, worked on rare maps, both paper based and their digital derivatives. Taught and supported classes on average, 15 classes a year in most areas including American Studies, Anthropology, Archeology, Art, Art History, Design, French, Geology, History, Latin American Studies, Media Studies, Political Science, Religion, Theater, Urban Studies and Writing. Created digital resources to support classes and collections. Created collection development policy and acquired rare materials.Background in map and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) librarianship, technical expertise in scanning, open access resources, teaching. Academic background in Geography with degrees in librarianship (MA), Geography (MS) and Business (MBA). Brought to fruition the opening of the David Rumsey Map Center at Stanford University in April 2016. Led and directed the Center's resources, oversaw programs and services including teaching, exhibitions and conferences; Oversaw map scanning.Prior to nearly 12 years at Stanford Libraries, created Manoa MAGIS at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa Libraries focusing in Maps, Aerial Photographs and GIS. Headed the effort to recreate the library’s map collection digitally after loss in flood.Prior to librarianship, was a Financial Aid Professional at the university level for 11 years.
