Directly out of high school I fought forest fires in the Sierra Mountains for the CDF before pursuing an education aimed toward architecture and fine arts via American River College, Sonoma State University and the California Architectural Apprenticeship program. This was interrupted by a stint in the U.S. Air Force, where I was trained as a plumber to construct Medevac unit hospitals. Relocated to Lake Tahoe from Sacramento starting G. Thomas Edwards Designs. Worked as the Creative Director for Grant Wolf and Associates Advertising, South Lake Tahoe for ten years creating marketing materials for both the Vacation Ownership industry and manufacturing sector before returning to my personal business, G. Thomas Edwards Designs, specializing in Graphic User Interface, GUI, design for touchscreen kiosks, and website design. Co-created in with Elizabeth Gallucci and still maintain, a 300 page tourism based website about California's Gold Rush and Gold Country, which receives on average hits a month. Created with Co-Inventor, Art Nemirow, HAWL - Hazard Ahead Warning Light. A device designed to save lives and money by warning oncoming drivers of hazards, i.e. deer, livestock, accidents, debris, and road hazard that lay ahead of them on the road. Co-created with Bruce Porter, Blackstripe Productions to create educational video segment for ARAI helmets.
