Background

About Gabe Meier

My name is Gabe Meier and I’m a student at Drake university studying Actuarial Science and data Analytics with a minor in Spanish. I’m currently in the process of studying for actuarial exams with the goal of achieving my FSA. I’ve passed exams FM, P, SRM, and PA. Since I was young, I have had a strong passion for all things numbers and statistics. This passion led me to pursuing a career as an actuary. Furthermore, I love to challenge myself to be the best I can be. In my time at Drake, I have made an emphasis to go out of my comfort zone and improve my communication skills. Through my internship with Coaching Actuaries, I have learned how to explain complex actuarial exam topics to students on an online question forum. Through my role on Drake’s Student Senate as the College of Business Senator, I have learned how to communicate my ideas to solve problems that the campus is facing. Looking into the future, I hope to use my strong analytical and communication skills to contribute to a company as an actuary. I’m very interested in any possible opportunity to learn more about the industry and ways in which I can bring value.
