About Gabriel Eidelman

Gabriel Eidelman is Associate Professor and Director of the Urban Policy Lab at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, with a joint appointment at the Institute for Management and Innovation, at the University of Toronto. He teaches classes on urban politics, policy, and governance in the Master of Public Policy and Master of Urban Innovation programs. His research focuses on cities and intergovernmental relations in North America, and has been published in numerous journals, including Cities, Urban Affairs Review, the Journal of Urban Affairs, and the Journal of Urban History. His work has been profiled in the Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, and National Post, and he has appeared in news coverage by the New York Times, The Canadian Press, CBC News, and Maclean's. Gabriel earned his PhD in Political Science at the University of Toronto, and held a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowship at Western University. Previously, Gabriel worked at the United Nations Division for Sustainable Development in New York, and the Public Policy Forum in Ottawa.
