About Gabriel Ramsay

I design and implement experiential learning (EL) initiatives that drive curriculum transformation and institutional innovation. For over a decade, I have led career and EL-focused curriculum development at the University of Ottawa, enhancing CO-OP and Work-Study programs while creating new opportunities such as the In-Depth Experiential Learning Stream (IELS) and Student-Led, Individually-Created Courses (SLICCs). I also played a key role in developing the EL Framework and competency quantification methods, ensuring programs are grounded in strong pedagogy and equipping students for a rapidly evolving job market shaped by AI, economic shifts, and social change. Trained in social work and environmental studies, my multidisciplinary approach integrates empowerment, systems thinking, and leveraging creativity—all infused with a twist of humour, empathy, and optimism.
