About Gabriel Sagewalker

My interest in biology began on a quiet farm in the Sierra Nevada foothills where I grew up immersed by wildlife as well as domesticated plants and animals. I studied Mind, Brain, & Behavior at Harvard University and explored interests including sleep, behavioral ecology, & evolutionary biology. After college I spent time at Loyola University researching circadian misalignment in Drosophila. In medical school at University of Illinois Chicago I received a broad education in general medicine and focused on clinical applications to treat dysregulation in mood, sleep, anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders. I am currently employed as a resident psychiatrist at The Medical Center of Aurora, HCA-HealthONE. My goals are empowerment toward physical and mental wellness at the individual & cultural level and to increase healthcare quality, access, and equity for patients.
