About Gabriel Ward

I am a senior undergraduate student in robotics engineering at WPI, where I have gained extensive hands-on project experience in developing robots for various tasks and applications, such as recycling sorting, path finding, panel replacement, color sorting, and mapping. I am proficient in programming languages and frameworks such as C++, C, MATLAB, Python, ROS, Java, RobotStudio, and Gazebo, and I have experience working with Arduino and Raspberry Pi. I have a strong background in prototyping and design tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, 3D printing, and working with microcontrollers. I am passionate about using robotics for social impact, and I have previously taught coding and robotics to youth from disadvantaged backgrounds as a camp counselor at LifeBridge Community Services and New Haven Public Schools. I am eager to apply my skills and knowledge to real-world problems and challenges in the robotics industry. As a laboratory monitor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), I assist students with projects and teaching labs in a machine shop, using tools such as lathes, mills, laser cutters, and CNC machines. I also maintain the shop's safety and cleanliness, and handle the inventory of materials and equipment. I enjoy working with different types of machines and materials, and helping others learn and create.
